You have been a superb member of the military council and it will be sad to see you go. All the best to you in the future.

Is fibre optic broadband rare in the US?
  3. Kiwi_Apple added a post in a topic Battlefield 1 Open Beta

I would have to agree with you guys. I was expecting/hoping for it to be a realistic WW1 game, although perhaps I was expecting the wrong thing from a battlefield game.

What does everybody think of the Battlefield 1 Open Beta?

I reckon this would make a good Star Citizen ship hehe https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avro_Canada_VZ-9_Avrocar

I suspect all of the ships are going to need to use their manouvering thrusters for suplementary lift during atmospheric flight even the ships with wings. So you are probably going to need a lot more fuel for atmospheric flight over space flight. Perhaps for landing the very large ships you would need a few space tugs to provide enough lift to get you safely down to the ground.

A little pricey but the Sennheiser Game Zero headset has been fantastic for me.
  8. Kiwi_Apple added a post in a topic First ever use of killer robots during Dallas Tragedy

Thats just what I thought. I dont think the media should be calling it a killer robot when its fully controlled by a human just remotely.

Ah right fair enough then but still prototypes are usually much higher quality than the mass production version.

Should be about the same amount of power needed to keep it moving once its up to speed just getting it up to speed may take more power but I doubt they would need to equip it with a more powerful motor. Only issue that may crop up is when you are changing the fan speed frequently. So perhaps this is one to stay at full power permanently. Also not too sure about precise machining, those interlocking plates look like they were done by hand.

Yeah its usually the fiber core a bit of padding then some aramid fibers and then some pvc to top it off.

I would be interested how hollowed out fiber optic cable copes when a digger dumps a ton of rubble on it.

Data on fiber optic cables travels at about 128,000 MPH (About 30% slower than the speed of light) so yes 9,000 miles is not really a problem. Also terabits per second is the volume of data not the speed of data over a certain distance.

At the time it was about £1500. I would not copy my build though as there is better hardware out now.
