    Science-fiction turned Science-fact

http://rt.com/news/167752-time-travel-quantum-light/ http://www.nature.com/ncomms/2014/14061 ... s5145.html Scientists have simulated time travel by using particles of light acting as quantum particles sent away and then brought back to their original space-time location. This is a huge step toward marrying two of the most irreconcilable theories in physics. ... The team simulated the behavior of a single photon that travels back in time through a wormhole and meets its older self – an identical photon. "We used single photons to do this but the time-travel was simulated by using a second photon to play the part of the past incarnation of the time traveling photon,†said UQ Physics Professor Tim Ralph as quoted by The Speaker.

    DFM Delayed

    I'm gonna tack this onto it: http://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/com ... _bug_list/

    DFM Delayed

I'm not going to post every image from the gallery, so here's the link: https://imgur.com/a/FzCWi?gallery For those not inclined to click: Travis basically lists MOST of the bugs listed in yesterday's delay post as "claimed fixed".

    DFM Delayed

I feel like they could've handled this a bit better, like in the previous "DFM week" 19-23 they didn't mention any of those "Blocker bugs". I feel like they should've mentioned something along the lines of "we're currently dealing with two major issues, and hopefully we'll be able to stick to our timetable" Granted these two bugs might've popped up recently, as we saw the QA guys testing the DFM with what seemed to be little hassle. Also, the "squeaky wheel get's the grease". The crappiest of the forums is going to stink up the place, these are the same people that frothed at the mouth when an arbitrary stat change destroyed their world-view. Which is to say, "They don't understand the 'disclaimer' language like 'if all goes according to plan then we'll launch on the 29th'." CIG did kinda put themselves in this position though, they should know by now - especially after the "DFM December!" rally of spending in November - that putting up any sort of solid date is going to end up being a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" moment.

  12. The most prolific of sci-fi authors, Jules Verne described "a masterpiece containing masterpieces" which was designed and commanded by Captain Nemo. That "masterpiece" of course was the Nautilus of "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" fame. “Anything one man can imagine, other men can make real,†he said. To this I would have to agree, we've pretty much followed his narration of human development. From this article: He conceived of an underwater vehicle “all powered by electricity!†at a time when only prototypes of submarines existed and electricity was known but not of wide use; he presaged the use of such a high-powered submersible in warfare and scientific research; with the help of an illustrator-friend, he envisioned a propeller-driven aircraft when hot-air balloons were the height of aviation; he depicted weightlessness when zero gravity was still a scientific guess and put humans on the moon a century before mankind’s giant step. As we have seen from movies, games, books, etc. of recent decades there are still many things that we have not accomplished, and indeed may never accomplish. However, every now and then we get a little glimpse into the future; something that sparks our light and ignites some bit of fancy. But I can't be on Stumble-Upon all the time, and I don't dedicate my search engine to scientific journals, so if you're a fellow nerd and enjoy witnessing the first renditions of a future we may not see - lightsabers.jpg amirite?- then I ask that you post the link of it just so that we may read about it. Discussion is yours to be had, and outside-the-box theorycrafting is what the aim of this thread is. :geek: To that end I submit to you a recent find of mine: Holy-cr*p magnetic portals in our atmosphere

I'm pretty new, does this setup look coherent?

Here are some other resources for you specifically about Star Citizen. A perspective that's different from Tom's Hardware: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.c ... ardware/p1 And here's a CPU hierarchy: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.c ... st-2013/p1

I'm pretty new, does this setup look coherent?

As an aside: the PSU is very, or more likely very important. Along with what the 80+ certification signifies you also want to go for a good company. A no-name PSU brand with 80+ Gold is not the same as Seasonic/Corsair/Antec 80+ Gold This is because the 80+ system isn't actually a hard certification process. So really without years of proper good reviews from the end consumer (you and us) you shouldn't trust a companies 80+ rating. Or rather, from the article that I'm going to link: 80Plus Gold By Any Other Name Might be 80Plus Silver A guide to choosing: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/32436 ... lies-guide A list of choices: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/32296 ... s#t2430472 The 80+ system: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/10/ ... 4OYGfldVxI
