I know 3.0 is on the way *Points at the calendar and makes a big hand sweeping motion*. So I was thinking on starting some speculation thread going for ships to come.

Getting the ball rolling. I keep hearing about a 600I Origin Jumpworks ship around the web. Reckon this is just pure speculation or has there been hints that CIG are bringing out the next Origin Jumpworks ship? If there has been hints, reckon it will rock up at Gamescon or Citizencon? So far the most prominent idea, I keep see is that it is going to be a constellation equivalent from Origin Jumpworks.

Cheers,

Seb

This isnt the most up to date ( i think)

SC_2017_EndofYear_PUTimeline_MonthsKey_L

But, right now your correct the only ship that we have no real peek at is the Origin 600 series ship. (be it series or just an ship)

Also recently there has been a big push for ground vehicles vs spaceships, this is due to rounding out the FPS aspects of the game, so its likely to see many more ground types than new ships.

Also, many of the new ships arriving have been made flight ready before the sale starts, suggesting that there are more ships just waiting for the month to reveal.

A list of ships not in production (yet)

Merchantman

Anvil Carrack

Hull series (A, B, D, E) C variant is in production.

Endeavor

They have hinted at the 600i a lot. They have even put it in some of the game lore. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/spectrum-dispatch/16041-Terra-Gazette-Crusader-Admits-Crime-Is-On-The-Rise the ship is coming we just don't know when or what it is.

I think the 600i is going to be a fast constellation with less cargo.

Every ship is going to get hate. And I see this ship getting a lot of hate if it just a taxi for $350.

People love the 890 Jump and it's a $600 taxi..

We have 45, 890 Jumps' in the Org; according to the spreadsheet.. It's the 4th most purchased ship behind the Sabre, Dragonfly and Terrapin..

We may need to get a Transportation Division at this rate.. :bored:

lies, damn lies, and statisics ...

anglerfish and hibari500 both show 11 890s each, angler is still in TA but I can't find Hibari

there's others who are listed as having an 890 who have moved onto other orgs

How dare thee' call facts, lies! Blasphemy! Heretic!

Maybe together they are in cahoots to form the first Star Citizen Uber service?! You don't know! 22, 890J's is a good startup!   /sarcasm

The spreadsheet only has 176 people, RSI shows Tac as having 1312 members currently. Removing Hibari's 11, leaves us 34 factual, owned 890's. (;-))

34/176=19%   ...   19%*1312=249 (rounded down).  As a whole, we have an estimated 249 taxis in the Org..

Take-away: With an estimated 249 890J's, I should never have to be stuck in those peasant hauling Connie Phoenix's or 600i's..

my understanding was - RSLtaken has a hope that CIG would make a list out of actual information .. I doubt it would be outdated :)

me too, I hope its more accurate than the ship stats page has been on RSI :)

you can't round down an 890, man, that's just not right  ;)

Have they hinted/released a price for the 600i already? $350 puts it right at a Connie Phoenix, which personally, I'd melt and get a 600i.

Well then some poor sod only has a quarter of a 890.. I'd suggest @Roy or one of the Canadians. They're gonna be the most accepting and friendly of such a situation. :-D

I call mates rates on all org taxis!

That said.... I would rather hitch a ride on an Endeavour or something bigger, I could be of use in flight. I'd offer free roam of my Carrack, so long as you break a component you replace it :D

I do hope we see a 600I in the style of a connie, well a smart looking connie. To be honest, so far the Endeavour is a favourite of mine. If something like Misc brought out a connie sized vessel or a little bigger, I would be very very keen too. I mean the Endeavour has its own sort of style, in a bulky sleekness kinda way.

The internal war at the moment is, Cutlass Black or Red, v.s waiting for the eventuation of the possibility of a 600I. There is also sore temptation to go for that Endeavour down the track.

Tumbril was alright, Nox was pretty sleek, but definitely need something more.... Tank like or a big, sleek antigrav vehicle. I would laugh if the 600I turned out to be a big antigrav surface vehicle.

If you are will to pay $10 you can get a Gladius to Cutlass balck CCU. So if the price go up after the rework get in game you can still get it for $100. If you don't like it just melt it and get your money back. And you still have the CCU to buy back later if you change your mind.

get a red and hold on to it until that 600 is within reach

the endeavour can be my in-game goal

I'm too fancy to be working on someone else's ship that is supposed to be shuttling me around.. Better have some 2945 Dom Perignon waiting for me and a hot towel..

Plus, no one wants to be on Ichi's Endeavor, having him boss you around and making you fix his janky ship! :-D

That is something. All this speculating on ships, are we going to be able to still CCU to brand new concept ships that are just released. I think I heard something about CIG changing how CCU works. If CCU still works to a new concept ship, I definitely might go Cutlass black - Red and origin 600I otherwise I might hold off and just go to the origin if it makes a debut at gamescom.

To be fair, the entire CCU system needs a overhaul.

Getting rid of 0$ CCU's is a start though. Should CIG ever actually do it.

Ok, I have begun hearing the phrase 'Game Changer Ship' rolling about more and more. So I think it is time to get speculating!

The two criteria I have heard so far are A. It's going to be civilian and B. It's going to be big. (Hopefully not big enough to steal my Endeavor dreams hehe)

So what could it be?

Well thinking on what we already have off the top of my head:
Endeavor ticks hospital and most science categories
Starfarer ticks of fuel
Crucible ship repair
Genesis starliner
Prospector/Orion mining
Reclaimer salvage
Hull series cargo
Merchantman flying shop on engines
890 Jump HQ ship/Swanky yacht
All manner of multi-role ships

There is certainly a bit of imaginative gaps or room for specialisation. So, here are a few ideas I have on what it might be:

1. Ship transport. Quantum drives going to take a while to get from A to B. Probably something that can strap on about 6-8 fighters, but not effectively launch them like a carrier. In line with enormous trucks that carry cars around the country side. Maybe even something that could fit two constellations in albeit not really shoot. You could similarly run with an actual land vehicle transport, which would be nifty and make selling land vehicles a thing.

2. Construction ship. I highly think this is an option. We haven't seen a dedicated construction ship, either building space stations, coms arrays or land bases. Probably specialise between space based and land facilities. With things being modular in nature on some ships it could work a bit like fallout 4 or something. Just plonking things down till you are satisfied.

3. Colony ship. When we start getting a lot more planets, we are going to probably need one of these.

4. Factory ship. Crucible sort of fills the role to an extent, but maybe one focused on trade commodities or land based items.

5. Terraforming ship.

6. Tug.

7. Hazmat.

8. Refinery ship.

9. Prison ship.

10. Artificial Jump lane ship. A ship that can make direct jump lanes or temporarily expand points to allow for bigger ships. If it was the former, might need two, one at either end.

IDK there is probably a lot more holes that I can think of, but here is a start. Coffee time.
